HOME SAUNAS

A 2 person barrel sauna is a compact, cylindrical timber cabin, usually built from heat-treated or Nordic spruce, that seats two adults on built-in benches and is warmed by an electric or wood-fired heater. Its curved staves shed rain, its rounded interior wastes little air, and its small footprint suits modest British gardens. Here’s the … Read more

Barrel saunas under £2000 are compact, barrel-shaped garden saunas, usually 1.6 to 2 metres long and seating two to four people. They arrive as flat-pack kits at a total price below £2,000. In the UK that normally means a smaller cabin, an imported kit, or a shell with the heater sold separately, so the headline … Read more

What is a Finnish sauna heater? It is the kiuas: an electric or wood-fired stove that heats a mass of stones until a ladle of water turns into löyly, the soft, rolling steam that defines a Finnish sauna. In short, a Finnish sauna heater is judged by its stones as much as its kilowatts. Most … Read more

Finnish saunas under £2500 are traditional, stove-heated garden saunas, usually barrel or cabin kits, that use hot stones and water to make löyly (steam) in the Finnish style. In 2026, complete kits that fit that budget are rare, so this guide stretches to around £3,500. Let’s be blunt. Sauna prices are a bit like pub … Read more

There’s a particular silence that falls over a Finnish sauna the moment someone ladles water onto the stones. The air blinks. Shoulders drop. Conversation stops mid-sentence. It’s why Finland has roughly 3.2 million saunas for around 5.5 million people, and why Finland’s sauna culture was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage … Read more

There’s a moment in every wood-fired session when the fire settles, the stones take over, and the room goes quiet except for the tick of cooling steel. That’s what you’re really buying with a wood burning sauna stove. Not kilowatts. Not a spec sheet. That slow, rolling heat an electric element can imitate but never … Read more

Wood burning saunas are heated by a real log fire instead of an electric element. The stove warms a bed of stones, the stones heat the air and flash ladled water into steam, and a flue carries the smoke away. No mains power is needed, so they suit gardens, allotments and off-grid plots. There’s something … Read more

There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a garden once you’ve got a fire going in a sauna stove — logs crackling, stones ticking as they heat, condensation building on a little window. That’s the appeal of a wood burning sauna for garden use, and it’s a different experience entirely from flicking a … Read more

Picture this: it’s a wet Tuesday in November, the heating’s already groaning, and you want fifteen minutes of proper heat without driving anywhere or booking a slot. That’s the whole pitch behind an electric sauna cabin for home — a self-contained heated room, plugged or wired into your existing supply, that turns a spare corner, … Read more

There’s a particular kind of regret that comes from buying the wrong sauna heater — the kind where you’re stood shivering in a “warm” room forty minutes after switching it on, wondering why your garden cabin feels like a slightly heated shed rather than a proper Finnish löyly experience. An electric sauna heater is the … Read more
